A few people have been wondering what sort of food is on offer at our ON SITE BBQs, so we’ve decided to post one of the menus here.

OUR RECOMMENDED MENU

The Famous HONEST gourmet Festival Burger

8oz’s of pure 100% West Cork Beef, Juicy Beef Tomato,

Real Cheese, all in a homemade bap.

The equally Famous HONEST Breast of Chicken Burger

Herb Seasoned and Marinated Chicken Breast, Juicy Beef Tomatoes,

Crisp Cos Lettuce, all in a homemade bap.

Selection of Gourmet Sausages:

Pork & Apple, Leek & Herb, Honey Glazed Pork

Mixed Garden Green Herb Salad

Homemade Baby New Potato Salad

Selection of homemade relishes, salsa, dips and sauces.

HONESTLY BBQ Onsite at your office!

Just cause there’s a recession, don’t rule out that summer office BBQ! Here at the HONEST food company we’ve devised a Summer BBQ package that won’t break the bank (well anymore than they’re already broken!), and is so simple to organise that even a Minister for Finance could manage it!

Instead of trying to organise a complicated evening out with all that work and hassle why not just keep things simple and why not organise a onsite BBQ at your office? Either after work some evening when the working day is done or even in the form of a leisurely lunchtime affair!

If you’re a smaller office, why not make it a local area and invite your friends, neighbouring offices and other local businesses to join in? The more the merrier! We’ll take care of all the hard work! From the BBQ itself and a selection of mouth watering food, we can also organise and tables, furniture, drinks and minerals that you might want to add.

Our Basic BBQ Package costs just €12.00 per person, based on a minimum of 25 people.

HONEST in the hospital!

Last evening we catered for the announcement of Cork’s new private hospital located in the spectacular Cityigate medical campus in Mahon. When completed and open in April 2010, the hospital will employ over 600 people and have 80 or so overnight beds. A fantastic new facility for Cork.

Over 100 invited guests enjoyed a fabulous canape reception. We were delighted to see so many prominant political figures in attendance. We thought that between the recent election being over and the Dail summer holidays coming up it would be hard to get them to leave the house!

Last weekend, we were delighted to be asked to cater for the first event of the year in the amazing Speiglent on Emmet Place. In aid of the Mercy University Hospital Foundation, GLAMOURAMA was a fabulous fashion extravaganaza that even featured on TV3’s XPOSE on Tuesday night.

Apart from having to keep the boys away from the models, the night went off without a hitch!

Riverstick – Allen’s Bar BBQ

We’ve forgotten to mention earlier that if you bored and looking for somewhere to go on a sunday afternoon, why not join us at Allen’s Bar in Riverstick where we cook up a might BBQ every Sunday from 3.00pm.

The Big News!

Well for most of you it’ll be out of date cause you’ll already know but the big news has to be that our wonderful little public bakery has had to close its doors!

We could go into it but safe to say that its the fault of the Big Bad recession and the enormous costs involved in keeping it open six days a week.

So what difference does it make? Well we’re still based on site at HONEST HQ in Riverstick for all our Outside Catering and market related cooking so you’re still very welcome to call in for a look anytime you feel like it. However we don’t keep anything in stock so if you’re looking for cupcakes, sausage rolls or anything else, call ahead and order or just catch us at the markets as always.

So first of all, we’ve got to apologise for the lack of updates recently. There’s been so so much going on at HONEST HQ that it’s been really hard to find the time to keep the blog updated. However thanks to all the positive feedback and comments we’ve decided that anything worth doing is worth doing well, so we’ll be making an increased effort to update a couple of times a week at least.

HONEST in your home

Things have been very busy lately at HONEST HQ. As well as all our daily baking for the shop, cooking for pubs, cafes and restaurants, our office lunches, hospital lunches and looking after all the sailors at HONEST KYC, we’ve been working hard on developing some new bits and pieces.

Most of the regular visitors will have already tasted our new Double Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Fudge cookies, we’ve also added new stuff in the fridge including our home made baby new potato salad and our friends from Flynn’s Kitchen have added their really tasty Chicken Liver Pate to the contents of our fridge.

On top of that we’ve launched our HONEST in your Home, dinner party package where we’ll come to your house with raw ingredients and cook you a fabulous meal in the comfort of your own home! Now thats how to experience HONEST FOOD as it should be! Wearing slippers in the comfort of your own home! ha ha

Woo Hoo! We Won!! (well Karen won!)

Ha ha, Karen is really having a good birthday! She just won the RED FM Crunchie Challenge and the Red Patrollers were just at HONEST HQ to deliver her a big batch of Crunchies and RED FM mugs!

Thanks to all at RED FM! We had cupcakes for you all, but you left without them! ha ha

Happy Birthday to our cupcake queen, Karen!

Karen makes all of our yummie cupcakes, cakes and generally anything that tastes nice. Plus she also has to work with boys, which cant be easy! 

And she has to bake her own birthday cake which we think is sad! Then again if we tried we’d probably burn her side of the kitchen to the ground.
